BHC Behavioral Technician

Job Location

This position is located at Bellefontaine Habilitation Center, 10695 Bellefontaine Rd., Saint Louis, Missouri 63137. There are possible positions available on either our first shift (6:00am - 2:30pm), second shift (2:15 pm - 10:45 pm) or third shift (10:30pm - 6:30am).

Responsibilities

• Implement behavioral support techniques developed by the behavior resource team for consumers potentially requiring more restrictive environments due to their behaviors.
• Respond to crisis situations and implement interventions established until behavior is safe.
• Able to implement and instruct others in the implementation of behavior support plans and crisis intervention techniques.
• Able to lift clients and assist in performing transfers and physical restraint procedures.
• Use of hands-on skills (dependent care).
• Comprehensive knowledge of standard behavior modification techniques, including receiving an Advanced Skills certificate of the Safety Care program, and maintaining this certification.
• Able to maintain all trainings, including CORE, CPR, and First Aid.
• Able to train and maintain Behavior Support Strategies training within six (6) months of starting.
• Able to train and maintain Mental Health First Aid training within six (6) months of starting.
• Able to train and maintain Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale within 90 days of starting.
• Must successfully demonstrate the Essential Skills - BST Skills within one year of starting.

Requirements

• One or more years of direct care experience with implementing behavior support plans for persons with developmental disabilities.
• Possession of high school diploma or equivalency and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Pay

Your pay may vary based on your qualifications and experience. Additional compensation may be provided if you meet certain requirements, such as obtaining the L1MA Certification within six (6) months of starting.
