BFT TEMPORARY ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE AIDES

About the role

Bulfinch Temporary Service, an affiliate of Mass General Brigham, is seeking entry-level candidates for temporary environmental service positions in various departments across MGH. Positions are available on a short-term or long-term basis, full-time or part-time, and can include weekend and evening shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain hospital facilities in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition.
• Clean and prepare post-discharge patient rooms according to department procedures.
• Safeguard dysfunctional equipment from unauthorized use.
• Report equipment breakdowns to supervisors.
• Operate a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals as required.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff, especially under stressful situations.

Requirements

• Physical ability to perform tasks such as pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing ladders.
• Able to lift over 75 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions, including dry mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, and hand scrubbing.
• Knowledge of operating heavy equipment such as buffers and auto scrubbers.
• Basic verbal communication skills to interact with patients, visitors, and staff.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $17.71 - $24.28 per hour, with additional details provided in the Additional Job Details section.

Schedule

Positions are available on a day shift, with scheduled weekly hours ranging from 0 to 40.
