About the Program

The Career Service at TH Deggendorf offers support for students in various aspects of career development, including:

  • Creating a skills profile
  • Identifying potential job opportunities
  • Developing application strategies
  • Reviewing application documents
  • Preparing for job interviews
  • Master's program counseling
  • Support for startups via THD - Startup Campus
  • Exploring alternatives to studying

The Career Service organizes annual "Berufsforen" (career forums) in collaboration with faculties, allowing students to meet companies relevant to their fields of study. These forums provide opportunities to ask questions about career entry, salary, and development prospects in small groups. Company representatives share insights, and short lectures offer preliminary information about the companies.

Job Shadowing Program

Job Shadowing offers students a unique opportunity to gain insights into their desired careers by accompanying THD alumni for a full workday. This program is designed for students who are choosing their study focus or exploring future career paths. It helps build connections with regional and national companies.

Unlike internships, Job Shadowing allows students to observe professionals without actively participating in work tasks. This experience helps students:

  • Gain clear ideas about specific job fields
  • Plan their career entry more effectively
  • Develop personally and professionally
  • Build important professional networks

The Job Shadowing day typically includes:

  • Introduction and formalities (1 hour)
  • Company tour (0.5 hours)
  • Job Shadowing (6 hours)
  • Final feedback discussion (0.5 hours)

Application Process

After identifying an interesting profile in the job portal, students can apply by sending their resume and application form to job.shadowing@th-deg.de. Applications are accepted at any time, and decisions are made by company representatives. Limited spots are available, so early application is encouraged.

Note: Participants are not insured through TH Deggendorf or the participating company. Travel and accommodation costs are typically the student's responsibility.
