Full-time graveyard shift position at Casino Arizona in the Food and Beverage department, reporting to a Dining Shift Supervisor, Beverage Supervisor, or Banquet Captain.

About the Role

Provides friendly, excellent service to all guests. Serves meals and/or beverages to patrons in dining establishments, lounges, showrooms, banquet halls, pools, hotel rooms, or gaming floors, wherever assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures excellent customer service for every guest, every time.
  • Greets guests, presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and beverages.
  • Writes orders on checks or memorizes them, relays orders to the kitchen, and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
  • Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving, if required.
  • Observes diners to respond to additional requests and determine when meals are completed.
  • Acts immediately on all customer comments to ensure corrections are made.
  • Totals bills and accepts payment or refers patrons to cashiers.
  • Sets up and supplies the beverage area with clean glassware, utensils, condiments, and paper supplies as necessary.
  • Removes soiled glassware and utensils from tables and countertops.
  • Makes coffee as needed, adds ice, and changes soft drink containers.
  • Maintains cleanliness of designated areas in accordance with established health and safety standards.
  • Ensures work areas, flatware, glasses, dinnerware, and other serving items are free from hazards (e.g., chips, breaks, liquid on the floor).
  • Responsible for renewal of Maricopa County Food Handlers Card.
  • Attends bi-annual Arizona state liquor law training.
  • When performing bottle service, properly executes service according to mandated steps.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance by attending annual training and adhering to regulations to protect cardholder data.
  • Observes and reports inappropriate card handling activity by customers or employees as defined by PCI.
  • Enforces all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, including observing and reporting suspicious activity by customers or employees.
  • Attends annual Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training (except for Room Service Servers).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; previous serving experience required.
  • Experience in a medium to high-volume restaurant strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws (Title 4) required.
  • Working knowledge of electronic point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages with meals; at least 21 years of age for Beverage (cocktail) and Pool Servers.
  • Additional experience required for specific roles:
    • Fine Dining Server (Orange Sky Outlet): 1–2 years of experience in a higher-end casual or mid-tier restaurant.
    • Banquet Server: 3–5 years of experience in a banquet, catering, or restaurant environment at a hotel, resort, or country club.
    • Room Service Server: Basic PC skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with InfoGenesis is a plus.
  • Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handlers Card; Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification is a plus.
  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, secondary smoke, and heat.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
