Beverage Industry - Maintenance Technician

About the role

Sunny Sky Products is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to help perform maintenance duties on equipment and facilities. This role requires demonstrated knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment, with skills in at least three of the following Mechanical Doctrines: Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Metal Working, Electrical, and Pneumatics. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for preventive maintenance assignments to ensure equipment is properly maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance assignments to keep equipment properly maintained.
• Apply mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make adjustments.
• Use computer skills to navigate and enter data from work orders.
• Comply with all safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Read schematics and operating manuals to repair and maintain equipment.
• Perform general facility maintenance, including carpentry, concrete, electrical, or plumbing tasks.
• Maintain a high level of accountability and integrity within the department.

Requirements

• Repetitive lifting and ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Maintain complete and accurate written records.
• Possess an Industrial Maintenance Certification or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility or in an Industrial Maintenance role.

Skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools and their safe use.
• Computer skills for work order data entry.
• Ability to read schematics and operating manuals.

Work Environment

This job operates in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The employee may be near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, and exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Schedule

This is a full-time hourly position, typically scheduled 6 days a week. Hours are to be determined based on business conditions and flexibility is required. Occasional overtime may be necessary.

The role may begin on the current schedule and will eventually transition to an assigned shift of either 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM or 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM, based on business needs and after training.

Pay

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience.
