About the role

Southern States Toyotalift is seeking a skilled Forklift Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining material handling equipment for customers across our service areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repairs on forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections on customer equipment
• Complete service calls at customer locations throughout the assigned territory
• Accurately document all work performed and parts used
• Maintain service vehicles and equipment in proper working order
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate repair recommendations clearly

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and experience with internal combustion and electric systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various warehouse environments
• Basic computer skills for completing service documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical certification or associate degree in diesel, automotive, or industrial maintenance preferred
• Previous experience as a forklift or heavy equipment technician strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Toyota, Combilift, Bendi, Drexel, JLG, or other material handling brands a plus

Pay

Schedule

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday
• Occasional overtime or weekend work as needed for customer support
