About the Role
As a Filler Operator, you will be primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned production filler, associated process systems, and packaging equipment. You will be proficient in sterilization, operation, and sanitation responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate and observe production line equipment to ensure food safety, product quality, and conformity to customer standards and specifications.
- Perform Sterilize-in-Place (SIP), operation, and Clean-in-Place (CIP) functions of assigned filler.
- Conduct repair functions, including moderate Preventative Maintenance (PMs).
- Perform start-up, troubleshooting/adjustment, stop/reset, and shutdown of line equipment.
- Clear jams and report malfunctions to Business Lead/Supervisor as necessary.
- Perform changeovers, complete line clears, and accurately set up next item’s packaging and coding.
- Report out-of-standard/specification results to the Quality Department and Business Unit Lead/Supervisor.
- Report unsafe conditions or compliance issues to the Business Unit Lead/Supervisor.
- Complete handwritten instructions and online documentation, including Quality and Critical Control Point (CCP) checks accurately and at required frequencies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed work logs (including Factory MES data collection) and inventory records.
- Monitor and review inventory and production levels to achieve efficient operating conditions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, completing environmental cleaning requirements as necessary.
- Actively participate in shift exchanges and work team meetings.
- Safely operate forklifts to keep the work area supplied with necessary production materials.
- Collaborate with various work teams and share work experience with other employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated organizational, detail-oriented, and observational skills.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with limited supervision.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment.
- 2 years of manufacturing, packaging, or assembly line production experience, ideally in food, food processing, high-speed packaging, or Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) industries.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous forklift experience.
- Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and related software, ideally Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and PM experience.
- Technical knowledge of aseptic filling/processing and associated equipment.
