About the Role
The Halfway House Cashier/Beverage Cart Attendant serves guests food and drinks while on the golf course, ensuring adherence to AAA Four Diamond standards. This part-time, primarily outdoor position focuses on providing exceptional service to both internal and external guests while promoting Wild Dunes Resort as a premier destination and employer.
Responsibilities
- Stock the beverage cart at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring proper inventory.
- Adhere to liquor portion control policies and all Wild Dunes Resort policies.
- Report beverage cart maintenance issues to supervisors or managers.
- Attend mandatory monthly department meetings and relevant resort/division meetings.
- Report tips and hours each shift using appropriate documents.
- Drive the beverage cart on the golf course and take guest orders.
- Receive payments, distribute change, and serve food and drinks.
- Mix specialty drinks and ensure accurate cash handling (counting drawers, tracking overages/shortages).
- Maintain cart inventory, sales sheets, and enter sales into the POS system.
- Keep the cart stocked, cleaned, and inform guests of daily specials.
- Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age.
- Collect trash and recycling from guests.
- Familiarize yourself with the menu and offer creative product recommendations.
- Answer guest questions, explain menu items, and accommodate special requests or dietary needs.
- Provide general resort information and promote resort amenities and events.
- Deliver warm, personalized greetings and farewells to guests.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of resort amenities and special events.
- Interact professionally with staff and assist other departments as needed.
- Upsell resort services and amenities to guests.
- Perform final quality checks on food and beverages before serving.
- Address guest issues promptly and with concern.
- Maintain awareness of safety issues (e.g., broken glass, hazards) and report incidents to supervisors.
- Act responsibly with company property, supplies, and equipment.
- Adhere to Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards and maintain a professional appearance.
- Remain courteous, helpful, and alert to guest and colleague needs at all times.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must possess excellent communication and listening skills.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must foster a teamwork environment.
- Must work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must interact effectively with guests and team members and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
- Must have a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Must pass federal E-Verify system verification.
Qualifications
- High school education required.
- Prior hospitality experience preferred.
- At least six months of food and beverage experience preferred.
- At least one year of customer service experience preferred.
- Six months of POS system experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Must work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, sun, heat).
- Must frequently climb into and out of the beverage cart.
- Must occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Must frequently perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional squeezing.
