About the role
Reporting to the Group Lead Manager, you will perform daily brief-related tasks and apply knowledge during the flavor selection, evaluation, and application development in alcohol beverages. Be a technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavor creation, and customers for specific beverage applications. This position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Lead evaluations of flavors in alcohol beverage applications for briefs, research projects, and portfolio evaluations.
- Select flavors for beverage projects according to specified requirements (e.g., customer, regulatory, legislation, costs) and suggest improvements for the most common applications.
- Identify appropriate flavor delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications.
- Gain customer trust and respect through limited, high-impact interactions.
- Maintain flavor performance data for the flavor portfolio through evaluation in finished products and capture of profiles.
- Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists.
- Participate in on-site customer working sessions, including presenting demo samples with supporting PowerPoint and formulations.
- Articulate and discuss technical material comfortably with customers in team settings alongside Sales and Marketing.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment, observing EH&S policies and holding others accountable for following these guidelines.
- Manage projects, including leading large development initiatives.
Requirements
- Technical degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology.
- 2+ years of experience in a beverage applications lab, production, or related area.
- Understanding of most beverage applications, ingredients, and processes, with experience in customers' manufacturing environments.
- Proficient in formulating alcoholic beverage applications and flavoring alcoholic beverages, including beer.
- Expertise in leading high-priority projects and managing a large workload.
- Understanding of flavor reactions/interactions in common beverage products and the ability to recommend flavor modifications based on performance.
- Solid experience in alcohol applications across multiple areas.
- Awareness of market trends in the alcohol space and the ability to translate these trends into creative products for strategic customers.

Pay
The established salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 plus an annual bonus. Actual compensation will depend on individual qualifications, including skill sets, experience, training, certifications, education, and internal equity.
