About the role
The Position Do you like connecting with the community to help improve watershed health? Does stormwater management and green infrastructure excite you?
Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and connect with the public
- Survey past PPRP projects sites
- Field assessments including photo documentation and field data collection
- Care for and document plant health and system functionality
- Coordinate follow-up maintenance efforts and technical assistance as requested
- Data management/entry of survey results and field inspections
- Create a findings report to inform future project implementation
- Support program staff by responding to and managing the drainage inquiry hotline and email
Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions with limited supervision
- Experience in customer service and community outreach skills
- Knowledge of stormwater management, general plant identification and stormwater facility maintenance
- Ability to conduct field surveys, data collection, and records management
- A valid state driver's license and an acceptable driving record is needed for driving City vehicles
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will demonstrate through direct or transferrable experience:
- Knowledge of maintenance of stormwater management techniques such as rain gardens, pervious pavers and drywells
- Ability to perform well in a range of public interactions and the ability to work with private landowners to assist with stormwater facility maintenance and technical assistance
- Proficiency with ArcGIS
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Familiarity with plant maintenance and care; ability to identify invasive plants
- Proficiency using MS Office suite
- Experience fostering inclusivity and equity

Pay
Employees who speak one or more languages in addition to English and who use their language skill to assist the community, may receive additional pay.
Schedule
Flexible hours, with a maximum of 1400 hours per calendar year. Estimate of 25 hours per week

STEP 5: Offer of Employment: Week of August 31, 2026
