About the Role
At Soho House, a Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for managing service, quality control, and ensuring a consistent F&B experience under the direction of the General Manager. The F&B Manager oversees daily, weekly, and monthly delivery of special projects, ensuring an optimal experience for members, guests, and staff. This role focuses on leadership in the hospitality industry through P&L review, forecasting, hiring, inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and optimizing business operations.
A successful Food and Beverage Manager will maximize sales and revenue by building relationships, understanding customer needs, and implementing efficient processes. The F&B Manager will lead service standards, elevate guest experiences, and oversee hiring, training, and scheduling of F&B staff.
Responsibilities
- Act as an influential leader who proactively manages operations alongside the General Manager to ensure service, staffing, and guest experiences exceed expectations while meeting profit targets.
- Deliver exceptional guest service and communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff to maintain high levels of internal and external customer service.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to design, train, and implement exceptional menus, purchase goods, and continuously improve offerings.
- Proactively identify customer needs and develop action plans to enhance experiences and mitigate risks.
- Engage with HR guidelines and support recruitment efforts to attract, retain, and train high-performing staff.
- Establish targets, KPIs, schedules, policies, and procedures to drive operational excellence.
- Foster transparency, teamwork, and accountability through open communication and motivation.
- Comply with allergy procedures and maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide weekly and daily recaps covering service standards, allergy procedures, staffing, sales, profit, and proactive solutions to mitigate future risks.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a similar capacity.
- Detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of problem-solving in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
- Experience with POS systems (or alternatives), OpenTable, Opera, or other hospitality-driven technologies.
- Passionate and influential leader who communicates effectively across functions and drives best practices in service.
- Knowledgeable about food and beverage trends, best practices, and local health and safety compliance regulations.
- Guest-oriented, service-minded, flexible, and proactive.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Capable of making fast-paced movements across the property.
- Ability to move, pull, push, carry, or lift at least 30 pounds.
- Occasionally required to kneel, bend, crouch, and climb.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time.

Pay
In accordance with Illinois law, the salary range for this role if filled within Chicago is $70,000—$70,000 USD. The range for other geographies may vary based on market differences. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
