Bereavement Volunteer (Memory Bear Program)

Program Overview

Bereavement volunteers in the Memory Bear Program create handmade keepsake bears from a loved one’s clothing to provide comfort, connection, and a lasting remembrance for grieving families.

Responsibilities

• Create memory bears using donated clothing and provided materials.
• Handle sentimental items with professionalism, care, and respect.
• Follow established patterns, instructions, and quality guidelines when completing each project.

Qualifications

• Sewing experience is preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Shows compassion, sensitivity, and respect for families experiencing loss.
