Position Summary
Responsible for coordinating the marketing and placement of client employee benefit programs by preparing and presenting Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to insurance carriers. This role evaluates client needs, partners with internal teams, and identifies solutions that minimize risk while maximizing cost effectiveness. The position is a hands-on, operational role that directly supports client strategy, service delivery, and business growth through market expertise and carrier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns the marketing process for employee benefit programs, including medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, ancillary, and stop loss coverages.
- Acts as subject matter expert on carrier marketplace, products, and funding mechanisms.
- Pairs with service teams to align market strategy with client objectives.
- Prepares and submits RFPs based on client data and coverage specifications.
- Analyzes client claims data, loss experience, and financials to ensure accurate submissions.
- Obtains and evaluates carrier quotes across multiple products and funding structures.
- Develops detailed comparison reports outlining policy provisions, pricing, and exclusions.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of all market submissions and reporting materials.
- Uses agency systems to track quote activity and maintain documentation.
- Maintains strong relationships with carriers to support client needs.
- Partners internally to ensure alignment on strategy and deliverables.
- Supports peer reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stays current on industry trends, carrier offerings, and market conditions.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives within the benefits marketing function.
- Identifies opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy.
- Implements best practices for RFP development and carrier engagement.
- Delivers accurate, competitive benefit program options aligned to client needs.
- Maintains quality, completeness, and timeliness of RFP submissions.
- Builds strong, trusted relationships with carriers and internal teams.
- Supports effective decision-making through detailed analysis and reporting.
- Contributes to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in employee benefits or insurance marketplace.
- Experience with business-to-business insurance products and carrier relationships.
- Strong analytical and financial interpretation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
