About the role
RVO Health is a health technology company on a mission to make health easier to navigate, more accessible, and more affordable for everyone. The company helps over 40 million people each month through trusted brands such as Healthline, Healthgrades, Fullspan Health, Medical News Today, and Optum Perks. As a Benefits Manager, you will own the employee benefits, total rewards, perks, and retirement programs, shaping how these programs are structured, communicated, and administered to attract and retain talent across all locations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the company's health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs, keeping them compliant and cost-competitive.
- Own annual open enrollment end to end: communications, rate analysis, vendor coordination, and making sure every resource involved knows their part.
- Build clear, engaging communication around benefits and total rewards so employees actually understand and use what's available to them.
- Track key metrics across benefits and total rewards, and use them to inform program decisions.
- Benchmark our programs against the market through surveys and industry research, and bring back recommendations to stay competitive.
- Maintain the knowledge base for total rewards, policies, and procedures so the info stays current and easy to find.
- Partner with HR Business Partners on confidential or escalated benefits issues, helping resolve them clearly and reduce legal exposure.
- Stay ahead of federal, state, and local regulations affecting our plans (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and others), and recommend policy updates as laws change.
- Oversee required filings and testing, including Forms 1094-C, 1095-C, and 5500, along with annual benefits and 401(k) testing.
- Manage distribution of required notices and disclosures, like summary plan descriptions and summaries of material modifications.
- Lead benefits education sessions, open enrollment meetings, and onboarding presentations.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and make sure payments go out on time.
