Benefits Application Specialist
Location: Omaha, NE | Full-time, seasonal/temporary, hourly, non-exempt position

We are seeking a Benefits Enrollment Specialist to support individuals as they navigate health insurance options through education, enrollment assistance, and ongoing communication. In this role, you will serve as a trusted resource to consumers, helping them make informed decisions while delivering a high-quality customer experience that reflects Milliman’s values at every interaction.

Responsibilities
- Educate and consult with individual health insurance consumers to help them understand available coverage options
- Assist customers through the enrollment process with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy
- Deliver proactive follow-up and ongoing support to enhance customer satisfaction and retention
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal and external stakeholders, including employees, client decision makers, insurance carriers, and brokers
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in internal systems and CRM platforms
- Contribute to Milliman’s service model by delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience
- Use customer interactions and feedback to support retention strategies and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications
- Health insurance industry experience in employee benefits and/or personal insurance strongly preferred
- 2+ years of experience in Customer Success, Customer Advocacy, Relationship Management, Account Management, or a similar customer-facing role preferred
- Current Life & Health insurance license, or the ability to obtain one within a short timeframe
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional listening ability
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and customer interactions
- Strong technical aptitude, including comfort using CRM systems and other technology platforms
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive, with a positive, “can do” attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Passion for helping customers achieve the best possible outcomes
Work Environment
This position is in-office, hybrid, or remote. In-office or hybrid work will be at the Milliman Omaha office, which offers a business casual, professional environment located at 180th & Dodge. Employees work alongside a collaborative team of approximately 75 professionals.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this role is $15.00 - $25.00, depending on relevant factors including education, experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, and other business considerations.
This role also includes production-based incentives tied to two primary activities:
- Bookings: Meetings with individuals to consult and educate on health insurance options. These typically take approximately 45 minutes. Incentive: $40 for each fully completed and documented booking.
- Applications: Completion of insurance applications with carriers. These typically take approximately 15–20 minutes.
- 1–100 applications: $10 per application
- 101–500 applications: $12 per application
- 501–1000 applications: $15 per application
- 1001+ applications: $18 per application
