Benefits and Leave Program Administrator
How will make an impact in this role?
You will be responsible for administration of employee benefit programs, leave of absence and ADA Accommodation processes across a multi-state workforce. This role ensures benefit offerings, leaves and accommodation practices are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, while delivering a high-quality, mission-aligned employee experience. You will serve as a key liaison between employees, internal stakeholders, and external vendors, supporting the organization’s commitment to employee well-being, equity, and operational excellence. You will exercise independent judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying benefits and leave policies and regulations, including making determinations in complex situations that materially impact employees and organizational compliance.

- You rely on extensive knowledge of all the employee benefits laws, regulations, and processes.
- You possess sound judgment to be able to approve, deny, or modify leave and benefits determinations.
- You have a strong commitment to compliance and confidentiality.
- You have superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- You have an impeccable attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies
- Education/Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience administering employee benefits and leaves of absence.
Other Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-state or distributed workforces.
- Strong working knowledge of FMLA and state leave laws (CA, CO etc.), ACA, ADA, COBRA administration, ERISA, and HIPAA requirements.
- Proficiency with HRIS and benefits administration systems. Prefer experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Experience and commitment to working with multiethnic, multicultural, low-income populations.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, especially Microsoft Teams).
