About the Role

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting the organization's employee benefits and leave of absence programs. This role ensures accurate administration, compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and a positive employee experience through effective communication and service. This role is critical in helping employees understand and maximize their benefits, while ensuring operational excellence and alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for benefits-related inquiries.
  • Liaise with benefits vendors and carriers to ensure service quality.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure benefits data accuracy and compliance.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees initiating a leave of absence, providing guidance on process, eligibility, and next steps.
  • Coordinate with the external leave administrator to ensure seamless communication and timely processing of leave requests.
  • Manage all accommodation requests under the ADA, including interactive process documentation and coordination with leadership.
  • Monitor and reconcile leave-related payroll for both hourly and salaried employees to ensure accuracy during absences.
  • Maintain visibility on leave trends and ensure internal systems are updated to reflect employee status changes.
  • Deliver clear, timely benefits-related communication.
  • Coordinate benefit education events and open enrollment activities.
  • Create and maintain employee-facing documentation and intranet content.
  • Accurately complete arrears for payroll processing each week.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for employees on leave to ensure accurate payroll calculations each week.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in generating reports on benefits utilization, trends, and costs.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, and scheduling meetings.
  • Answer employee inquiries via the HR hotline, providing guidance on policies, benefits and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in administrative roles, preferably in human resources or related setting.
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software, or other HR-related tasks preferred.
  • Executes day-to-day benefits and leave transactions under close supervision.
  • Primarily handles employee inquiries, vendor communication, and data entry.
  • Supports Open Enrollment logistics and communications.
  • Required Certification: Self-Funded Group Health Plans Training through The Institutes of Knowledge Group.

Schedule

  • In-office schedule: Monday – Friday; 8am-5pm
