Responsibilities
- Use height gauges, calipers, hammers, and precision fixtures to adjust aluminum and copper parts to blueprint-defined tolerances.
- Interpret engineering drawings and quality specifications to determine dimensional requirements.
- Perform controlled mechanical adjustments to achieve precise fit, alignment, and form.
- Inspect parts to verify compliance with dimensional, visual, and quality standards.
- Handle and secure parts using approved tools and methods to prevent damage.
- Maintain an organized workstation and ensure tools and gauges are properly maintained.
- Accurately document measurements, adjustments, and inspection results per quality procedures.
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Communicate with quality, engineering, and production teams to support workflow and resolve issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience using precision measurement tools such as height gauges, calipers, and mechanical fixtures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and GD&T requirements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience manipulating metal parts to tight tolerances.
- Experience working with aluminum and copper materials preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and repeatability.
- Ability to perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify conformance to specifications.
- Comfortable documenting measurements and work performed per quality procedures.
- Understanding of shop safety practices and proper tool handling.
