Bench Substitute Teacher - Lyman Elementary School

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred. Ability, interest, and flexibility in working with young people. Able to report to the school on short notice and teach regularly planned lessons. Ability to communicate and cooperate with students, community, and school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Report to the school at least one-half hour before school opens or as early as possible after being notified.
• Report to the Building Administrator or School Administrative Assistant(s) to receive assignment, other duties, and substitute forms.
• Review and follow teacher's plans and materials.
• Maintain order in assigned classes and assist in supervising all students.
• Maintain student respect for school property, fellow students, and staff.
• Take attendance promptly in each class and report any student not accounted for to the office.
• Notify the office immediately of any injured or ill student.
• Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
• Check with the office before leaving; leave completed forms with the office staff.
• Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

Terms of Employment

Salary, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board's policy on evaluation.
