Bench Machinist - 3rd Shift

About the role

Operating specialized machinery to perform operation of metal working components to specific processes and prints, requiring close tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Maintain close tolerances.
• Perform related bench functions, such as, deburring, cutting splines, honing, marking part numbers, countersinking, drilling, etc.
• Change and replace dull or broken tools as required
• Observe machine operation for accuracy and replace dull cutters.
• Maintain correlated dimensions such as lead, pitch, diameter, profile, etc.
• Identify sets by stamping
• Perform dynamic balancing of single and multiple rotors, propellers, impellers, screws, rotating elements, timing gears and subcontract elements as required up to capacity of machine
• Setups require selection and the use of various bushings and arbors, including expansion arbors on which the parts to be balanced are securely mounted
• Tolerances are close but not difficult to attain.
