Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined aerospace components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, customer specifications, and work instructions.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including: Micrometers, Height gages, Dial test indicators, Bore gages, Pitch Micrometers, Profilometers, Optical comparator, Vision system (Keyence) preferred.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and visual characteristics meet customer and engineering requirements.
- Complete inspection documentation accurately and legibly.
- Identify and segregate nonconforming material.
- Communicate quality concerns promptly to supervisors and production personnel.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions when quality issues arise.
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Understands basic QMS requirements & the importance of documentation.
- Be proficient with inspection equipment (micrometers, pitch micrometers, profilometers, comparators, depth micrometers, height gages, vision inspection equipment, bore gages and test indicators (CMM is a plus)).
- Experience performing first piece inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections (aerospace industry preferably).
- Able to interpret drawings and specifications to discern requirements.
- Understands GD&T and how to apply bonus tolerance.
- 20/20 vision, exam required (can be with correction).
- Aerospace manufacturing environment experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality requirements.
- CMM experience (but not required).
