About the role

As a Food Service Specialist, you'll provide a well-stocked, well-maintained department while providing superior customer service. You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product on a daily basis while maintaining all department and food safety / sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include proactively providing superior customer service, taking orders from customers, answering customer questions, and working independently with minimal supervision. You'll also apply expertise to prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product, and assist in technical areas as needed.

• Maintain all department and food safety / sanitation standards

• Assist in technical areas, such as operating and maintaining equipment

Department-Specific Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities vary by department:

• Bakery: Record production and shrink, assist in baking and decorating, and cull products for poor quality
• Deli: Manage the Make Ready application, use the Fresh Production Planner, and perform inventory management processes
• Prepared Foods: Serve and package products, educate customers on preparation and reheating instructions, and prepackage condiments

Qualifications

To be qualified for this role, you must be at least 18 years old and have at least 1 year of experience. You must also have knowledge of computer systems and equipment, strong customer service skills, and communication and interpersonal skills.

• Age: 18+
• Work Experience: 1+ years
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Computer systems, customer service, communication, and planning/organizing
• Education: HS Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Licenses/Certifications: Completion of food safety and sanitation training, and training on equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

This role requires functioning in a fast-paced, retail environment, with detailed and precise tasks. You must be able to work with customers, stay attentive to their needs, and perform various physical tasks.

• Frequently walk, reach at shoulder, and bend
• Occasionally sit, reach overhead, and lift up to 50-55 lbs
• Be exposed to wet, cold, hot conditions, and loud noise
