About the Role
The Bell/Valet provides each guest with an exceptional arrival and departure experience by servicing vehicle and luggage demands as needed. Ensures timely check-in and check-out, proper handling of luggage, guest vehicles, and room deliveries. Performs job responsibilities satisfactorily according to department standards while adhering to all company, safety, and department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipating guest needs to exceed expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum one (1) year previous experience in guest services
- Valid Nevada driver’s license
- TAM card
Skills
- Ability to drive automatic and manual vehicles
- Ability to greet guests warmly, handle inquiries, and provide a positive first impression
- Clear and polite verbal communication for interacting with guests and team members
- Quick thinking to resolve guest concerns or logistical issues
- Efficiently handling multiple tasks such as luggage assistance and vehicle parking during peak times
- Ability to lift and carry luggage, stand for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions
Responsibilities
- Ensure guest belongings are handled carefully and vehicles are parked securely
- Maintain trustworthiness when handling guests’ property
- Maintain a professional and neat appearance
- Greet and thank each guest during arrival and departure
- Assist, retrieve, and store guest luggage
- Perform room deliveries
- Open car and lobby doors for all guests
- Maintain traffic control, ensuring fire lanes are kept clear at all times
- Secure taxis and other transportation for guests
- Maintain proper control of all guest keys
- Carry out all reasonable requests by management within capabilities
Essential Job Functions
- Work is performed in various environments throughout the property, including areas with varying noise levels, temperature, illumination, and air quality
- Must be tolerant to conditions such as moderate to loud noise levels, especially on the casino floor where smoking is permitted per Nevada state regulations
- Interacts with management, applicants, fellow associates, and guests
- Requires effective verbal communication with guests and coworkers
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility throughout the property
- Requires bending, reaching, transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 80 lbs
- Requires lifting items weighing up to 80 lbs
- Requires prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
- Requires eye/hand coordination
- Requires use of standard office equipment
- Requires basic math skills and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
- Ability to comply with policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS), and other instructions
