About the role
NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.
Responsibilities
- Ensure behavior management programs are consistently implemented for people served.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship by building rapport with the person served.
- Follow the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation.
- Collaborate with the family and treatment team members to provide behavior management techniques effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals.
- Educate parents/guardians on reinforcement and intervention information when requested.
- Promote safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
- Review progress of people served objectively using behavior analytic methods, identify solutions to barriers, and make recommendations to the supervisor and behavior analyst when needed.
- Accurately collect behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and composure. Utilize appropriate interactional style with persons served and staff. Maintain dignity and respect for others.
- Increase the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations).
- Reassess as appropriate.
- Participate in training from clinical staff on the implementation of program updates to assure rehabilitative objectives are achieved.
- Complete incident reports as required by agency policy and procedure.
- Review daily updates for person served such as new programs, access level changes, scheduled sessions, etc., implement programs and train staff on implementation.
- Schedule and prepare for leisure activities to keep persons served engaged and active when therapy sessions are not taking place.
- Attend clinical meetings as assigned such as access review meetings, clinical team meetings, progress conferences, etc.
- Provide up-to-date residential status of participants and identify problem areas affecting the participant.
- Follow through with solutions based upon clinical team recommendations.
- Understand and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures; also ensures compliance with relevant external regulatory statutes and standards.
- Perform other related duties and activities as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Preferred experience in related field
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly
- A good listener with an ability to empathize while still providing guidance

- Travel as needed
- Physical Requirements: Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
