Behavioral Technician
About the role
Behavioral Innovations is hiring Entry-Level Behavioral Technicians / Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to provide clinic-based ABA therapy to children with autism. Whether you're new to ABA or already certified, we provide paid training, BCBA supervision, and a clear path for career growth.
Centers operate 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday, plus occasional half-day Saturdays. Full-time preferred; part-time requires open availability within these hours and at least 25 hrs/week (may vary by center).
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1, center-based ABA therapy to children (18 months-10 years)
- Implement treatment plans under BCBA supervision
- Collect and record behavioral data
- Support skill development, communication, and social interaction
- Participate in training, supervision, and team collaboration
- Maintain a safe, clean therapy environment
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation to the clinic
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to obtain RBT certification within 60 days (if not certified)
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain (provided by BI)
- Must complete and successfully pass a background check, including child abuse registry clearance, and drug screening as a condition of employment
Preferred qualifications include active RBT certification, experience with children, autism, or developmental disabilities, and backgrounds in childcare, education, behavioral health, or related fields.
Physical Requirements
The ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (to assist with client transitions and safety), sit, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods during sessions, and move quickly to respond to client safety needs, including occasional running, is required. Visual and auditory alertness to monitor client behavior and environment is also necessary. Pay
Hourly Pay:
- Entry Level (during training): $16.00/hr
- RBT I (1-3 months certified): $17.25/hr
- RBT II (3-6 months certified): $18.00/hr
- RBT III (6-9 months certified): $19.25/hr
- RBT IV (9-12 months certified): $20.50/hr
- RBT V (12+ months certified): $21.75/hr
- Senior RBT (12+ months at BI, client count dependent): $23.00/hr
A future BCBA Career Path is available: ABA Intern → Lead RBT → ABA Apprentice → BCBA → Clinical Leadership
