About the role
This position is located in the outpatient Trauma Recovery Center at Henry Ford Medical Group.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy and other behavioral health interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, etc.
- Have a basic understanding of case management/care coordination and community resources.
- Work with survivors of trauma and violent crime.
- Prefers candidates trained in trauma-informed care/working with trauma populations.
- Offer evidence-based care in diagnosing and treating mental illness and substance use disorders within an interdisciplinary team.
- Provide individual, conjoint, group, and family psychotherapy.
- Offer crisis intervention services as needed.
- Ensure that the quality of care is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.
Requirements
- Master's (or Doctoral) degree in counseling from a nationally or regionally accredited institution, including an internship and coursework on human behavior and development, effective counseling strategies, ethical practice, and pertinent core knowledge areas.
- Completion of a minimum of 3000 hours of post-master's degree supervised clinical experience within two years.
- Licensed Professional Counselor certification.
