Behavioral Health & Wellness Coordinator

General Description

The purpose of this classification is to be responsible for providing mental health services to employees of the Lexington Police Department, in addition to collaboration on, analysis of, and further development of the Lexington Police Department's LexPDFit program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in professional counseling or social work
  • Two years of related experience

Essential Functions

  • Captures wellness resources and provides counseling services for Division employees
  • Develops critical external partnerships as they relate to mental health and wellness
  • Provides insight related to wellness initiatives
  • Participates in training and curriculum development
  • Provides quarterly reports and an annual analysis of the program
  • Participates in Peer Support Team debriefings for critical incident after-action wellness
  • Develops a communication plan to highlight services to employees
  • Performs related work as assigned

Special Licenses/Certifications

  • All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment
  • Valid Clinical Social Work License (LCSW) from the Kentucky Board of Social Work or Valid Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling (LMHC)

Special Requirements

  • All positions require drug testing and a background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor
  • Must adhere to applicable confidentiality and privacy standards
  • Subject to a polygraph and extensive background check prior to employment and/or after employment
