About the role
The Behavioral Health Therapist works with clients under the age of 18 in various settings to address mental health needs through individual, family, or group therapy. This role may also support Enhanced Foster Care cases, assisting foster parents in stabilizing children in care.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home and office-based therapy sessions focusing on mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, child abuse effects, self-harm, eating disorders, phobias, and aggression.
- Assess client behaviors and determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with foster parents to stabilize children in care.
- Support children and families through trauma-informed care practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage & Family Therapy.
- Licensed to practice mental health therapy in Michigan or be completing steps towards full licensure if temporarily or limited licensed.
- Strong knowledge of child development and experience working with foster and adopted children and families.
- Valid driver's license.

- Ability to work within a collaborative division with diverse expertise and experience.
- Experience working in a trauma-informed environment.

- Therapeutic skills tailored to children and families dealing with various behavioral and emotional issues.

- Ability to adapt to different therapeutic settings (in-home, office, group).

Pay
$49,920.00 - $55,250.00 annually.
