About the role

Pyramid Healthcare at Silver Ridge is seeking compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our residential treatment team in Mills River, NC. This full-time 1st shift position requires availability every Saturday and Sunday, with additional weekday hours to complete a 40-hour work week. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others and interested in building a career in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment.

Pay

$17.00–$18.50 per hour (plus shift differentials)

Schedule

  • Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week
  • 1st Shift
  • Required to work every Saturday and Sunday
  • Additional weekday 1st shift hours scheduled to complete a 40-hour work week

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and orient new clients during the admissions process
  • Monitor client safety, behavior, and overall well-being throughout the shift
  • Provide support and encouragement while promoting a therapeutic environment
  • Facilitate groups, recreational activities, and daily programming
  • Assist with medication line, room searches, and safety checks
  • Complete accurate documentation, shift reports, and required observations
  • Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and established protocols
  • Encourage client participation in treatment and recovery activities
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality
  • Assist with housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
  • Communicate effectively with nursing, clinical, and leadership staff
  • Assist with training and mentoring new Behavioral Health Technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties that support quality client care and daily operations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work 1st shift with required Saturday and Sunday availability
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, healthcare, or residential care (preferred)
  • Experience facilitating groups or working in a therapeutic environment (preferred)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) (preferred)
