Behavioral Health Tech - Student Option
Responsibilities
- Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned
- Participate in treatment planning
- Aid in the admission process
- Orient new patients to the unit and their program
- Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions
- Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation
About the role
Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.
Qualifications
- Currently working toward a Nursing Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or similar
- Previous experience with adults in a behavioral health setting
- Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and organization skills, highly effective listening skills, and strong clinical skills
- One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred

- CPR certification and Completion of Handle with Care training during orientation process

Pay
(A 2 WEEK ORIENTATION IS MANDATORY 8:30A- 5P)
Schedule
Four 8-hour shifts, including 1 weekend day per month and 2 holidays (1 Winter and 1 Summer) at minimum per year, floating to various units.
