Behavioral Health Nursing Supervisor - Mental Health Unit - Part time

About the role

The Behavioral Health (BH) Nursing Supervisor serves as an expert clinical practitioner who utilizes specialized knowledge, skill, research, and competency acquired through education and experience to promote and assist in providing quality patient care in all units.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with other departments and physicians, assisting staff in patient placement and coordination of care, and acting as a clinical resource to unit staff. The supervisor also assists with customer service and patient satisfaction issues, locates and obtains needed resources and supplies while complying with regulatory and infection control policies, and communicates with unit administrative managers to address staff performance, educational needs, process barriers, or customer service concerns.

The BH Nursing Supervisor manages and ensures safe unit staffing, works collaboratively with unit managers on action plans, and supports decisions while adhering to confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments and physicians to ensure quality patient care.
• Assist staff in patient placement and coordination of care.
• Act as a clinical resource to unit staff.
• Address customer service and patient satisfaction issues.
• Locate and obtain resources and supplies while complying with regulatory and infection control policies.
• Communicate with unit administrative managers to identify concerns related to staff performance, educational needs, process barriers, or customer service issues.
• Work collaboratively with unit managers on plans of action and support decisions while maintaining confidentiality.
• Manage and ensure safe unit staffing.

Requirements

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is required.
• 3+ years of pediatric experience is required.
• Active and unrestricted RN license in the State of Ohio is required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.

Schedule

Part-time, 12 hours per week.

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
• 1 (12) hour shift per week with weekend and holiday rotation serving the Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center.
