Behavioral Health Clinician (LCSW)

The behavioral health clinician is a key member of the primary care team, responsible for triaging and managing patients with medical and behavioral health issues within a primary care setting. They provide diagnostic assessments, brief behavioral interventions, education, and referrals, supporting ongoing therapy for a small caseload in outpatient care. Qualifications include a Master's degree in Social Work and licensure as an LCSW, with at least 2 years of experience as a therapist. Key skills involve providing cognitive and behavioral interventions to individuals, families, and groups, along with excellent interpersonal and collaborative abilities. Responsibilities encompass consulting with primary care staff, coordinating care, identifying at-risk patients, developing behavioral plans, and teaching patients and families about care and prevention techniques. The role supports primary providers in recognizing and treating mental health and psychosocial challenges, performing brief clinical assessments, and developing effective treatment strategies.
