Behavioral Health Clinician II - Adult Outpatient Psychiatry

About the Adult Outpatient Clinic

The Adult Outpatient Clinic at McGeachey Hall is part of the MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) continuum of care. We provide hospital-based outpatient behavioral health services for adults (18+) with primary DSM-5-TR mental health diagnoses, including individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders. Patients are referred to the clinic for comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Following an initial assessment by a psychiatrist, psychiatric resident under attending supervision, or advanced practice provider (APP), an individualized treatment plan is developed based on each person's unique needs. Services may include medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, case management, vocational services, and specialty behavioral health treatments.

About the Role

The Behavioral Health Clinician II is an integral member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, providing individual and group psychotherapy to adults with a wide range of behavioral health needs. This clinician utilizes evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Seeking Safety. Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, APPs, case managers, and other behavioral health professionals, the Behavioral Health Clinician II helps patients develop coping skills, improve daily functioning, strengthen resilience, and make meaningful progress toward their recovery goals. Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of clients with behavioral health needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field
• Licensed as LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
• At least two years of behavioral health experience including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician

Pay

The pay range for this position is $71,448.00 to $96,636.80 per year. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
