Responsibilities
- Provides individual, group, conjoint or family psychotherapy and support services to children with severe emotional disturbance and their family.
- Conducts clinical assessments, develops diagnoses, and participates in developing person/family centered treatment plans with client families.
- Maintains an electronic and paper chart which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents.
- Makes sure to meet all MDCH requirements for Home-based hours (minimum 4 hours per family per month).
- Monitors client progress and coordinates appropriate behavioral health and other needed services.
- Participates in individual supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers and develop strategies for better assisting families in reaching their goals.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
- Licensed or license eligible to practice in Michigan.
- Experience working with children and families experiencing severe emotional disturbance.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
