Responsibilities

  • Engage individuals in a welcoming, hopeful, empathetic manner.
  • Implement integrated strength-based assessment(s) interviews to assess the presence, onset, symptoms and patterns of behavioral health, substance use, and psychiatric disorders.
  • Assess for acute needs and risk and provide/arrange for appropriate stage-wise intervention.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric and substance use disorders.
  • Provide intensive stabilization services and intervention including individual, group, or family psychotherapy.
  • Evaluates the progress of individuals on an ongoing basis.
  • May perform case management functions and act as a liaison with school and/or vocational personnel and other community agencies to refer individuals, formulate and execute treatment plans, and provide educational and consultative services.
  • Attends team huddles to review barriers and progress towards stabilization of person served.
  • Assist individuals with identifying changes in behavior, attitudes, feelings and thoughts that are triggers for relapse.
  • Aid in the development of a relapse prevention/crisis plan utilizing personal, community and provider supports.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other providers across systems to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborates across disciplines for co-treatment/consultation of complex co-occurring mental health needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses.
  • Aids individuals with medication needs and coordinates with psychiatrist as appropriate based on treatment needs.
  • Provides support, education, and reinforces the use of prescribed medications.
  • Completes and maintains all paperwork in accordance with funding source as well as Easterseals MORC policies and procedures.
  • Performs crisis intervention as needed.
  • Travels to various locations throughout Oakland County and other surrounding counties to provide individual and/or family therapy.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma-informed care.
  • Willingness to support and assist individuals with trauma-related issues.

Requirements

  • Hold licensure as a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC).
  • Must meet qualifications of a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and/or Mental Health Professional (MHP) per the Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualifications per Medicaid Services.
  • Strong clinical and communication skills.
  • Possess a valid motor vehicles license in the State of Michigan with valid auto insurance coverage.
  • Possess a knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse).
  • Maintain 24 hours child diagnostic treatment services training requirement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Hold licensure as a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC).
