Responsibilities
- Deliver a high level of professionalism, empathy, and compassionate support and assistance to all of our patients, their families, and colleagues
- Greet and assist visitors and patients as they arrive at the office
- Review all patient paperwork for completion and accuracy
- Serve as the main point of contact for patients, including answering phone calls, voicemails and emails from patients
- Complete daily clinical tasks, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, entering patient demographics and data into the EHR system, billing, notes, and patient medical record maintenance, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness of office, as well as preparation and upkeep of the examination/treatment rooms
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Absorb and assist providers with performing point of care testing (urine drug screens and pregnancy tests), collecting vital signs, and other patient care
- Absorb and assist providers with pharmacy calls regarding prescription questions and issues
- Absorb and assist with prior authorizations for medications
- Absorb and assist with other administrative tasks, such as printing, faxing, and shredding documents, ordering and properly documenting inventory, etc.
- Follow all company protocols and procedures to ensure consistency in care across all clinics, maximize efficiency and meet required deadlines
- Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA
- Absorb and assist with other various tasks as delegated by the Provider(s), Clinic Manager, or Regional Director of Operations
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours that include regular evenings (occasional weekends) and are based on weekly patient schedules and needs - CA's are expected to be in the office for all shifts
Qualifications
- High School diploma, Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience
- Previous healthcare experience highly preferred, mental health setting a plus
- Ability to learn and maintain Electronic Health Record system
- Valid CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain during training period
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 20 lbs - moving or assisting patients and other equipment may be required
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during shift
