About the Role
The Behavioral Health Assistant (BHA) is a caregiver who functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The BHA provides patient care in accordance with each patient's individualized plan of care, unit standards and guidelines, hospital policies and procedures, and provides support to patients experiencing acute or chronic mental distress.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care based on individualized plans of care, unit standards, and hospital policies.
- Support patients experiencing acute or chronic mental distress.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by the American Heart Association.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 2 years of experience.
- Six months of experience working in a psych program, schools, residential day treatment centers, security, or clinical experience.
- Bilingual.
- Child and adolescent experience.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training/certification.
- Clinical Nurse Assistant (CNA)/Medical Assistant (MA) experience.
Pay
The current salary range for this position is $22.00 to $30.27. Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors including experience, education, licensure, unique skillsets, organizational need, and internal equity.
