About the role
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 people in rural, southwest Alaska. The position is based in Kwethluk, a village with a population of about 10.
Responsibilities
- Provides substance use assessments, crisis stabilization, case management, screenings, and rehabilitation services.
- Works under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
- Develops a plan to obtain Substance Abuse Counselor certification and advance to BHA-I certification.
- Partners with the supervisor to complete a specialized BHA-I training program and a 100-hour clinical practicum.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High school or GED equivalent.
- Minimum Experience: Two (2) years experience in Community Services, preferably in a related field.
- Mature judgment and the ability to communicate, retrieve, and present data and information both verbally, written, and electronically.
- Flexible with work schedule and capable of independent actions within prescribed limits.
Qualifications
- May develop a plan to obtain Substance Abuse Counselor certification.
- Must partner with the supervisor to advance to BHA-I certification.
- Must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 180 hours toward a specialized BHA-I training program and a 100-hour clinical practicum under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician.
Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual Yup’ik/English/Regional preferred.

Pay
$19.00 per hour.
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours per week.
