Responsibilities

  • Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician.
  • Implements patient-centered care and trauma-informed care.
  • Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.
  • Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time, in order to detect behavior patterns.
  • Utilizes clear and positive communication skills to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients' and families' needs and concerns.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
  • To update knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws
  • Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  • Technical/Vocational School [Preferred] Field Of Study in a Social Science
  • Of work experience in an Inpatient/24-hour-per-day mental health/substance abuse setting. [Preferred]

Skills

  • Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
  • To update knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws
