Behavior Technician - In-home Services Only

About the role

This position provides home-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children with autism. You will travel to clients’ homes and work closely with families in a supportive, team-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the instructional area throughout and at the conclusion of each session.
• Prepare and keep binders, stimuli, and needed materials accessible and organized.
• Dress appropriately, arrive on time, and allow ample preparation time before each session.
• Complete all tasks associated with session completion.
• Receive 1:1 and group supervision from supervisors through direct observation.
• Attend team meetings and scheduled trainings.
• Communicate professionally and positively with coworkers and parents.
• Respond to all internal communication (email, phone call, etc.) within 24 hours.
• Practice universal precautions to protect against the transmission of communicable diseases.
• Maintain appropriate communication with parents about all aspects of therapy.
• Deliver instruction following procedures learned from initial and ongoing training sessions and based on feedback from supervisory staff.
• Collect, record, and analyze data accurately following Gateway Pediatric Therapy’s procedures.
• Respond to client’s behavior following procedures learned from training and feedback from supervisory staff.
• Complete necessary training and demonstrate accurate implementation and reporting on client-specific plans, such as behavior plans and emergency procedures.
• Perform and maintain certification in basic first aid procedures.
• Complete and submit all progress notes by the end of the scheduled therapy session.
• Identify when interventions are needed and communicate in a timely manner to the monitoring BCBA or supervisor.
• Implement Crisis Prevention Institute procedures as required when presented with maladaptive or undesired behaviors.
• Report directly to the monitoring BCBA for client needs and program implementation, and to Clinical Managers for administrative needs or issues.
• Maintain client privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Gateway policies.

Requirements

• Must be able to communicate expressively and receptively both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to sit in a child-size chair or on the floor, switch from standing to sitting quickly, walk, jog, or run quickly in the event of client elopement, and assume and maintain various postures (standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting).
• Must be able to perform physical activities including bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, visual acuity, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Pay

USD $18.00 - $24.00 per hour.
