About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians. As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children with autism
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans
  • Teach communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Reduce interfering behaviors using evidence-based techniques
  • Provide support and encouragement to children and their families
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other professionals
  • Document progress and communicate with BCBA and parents
  • Adapt to the unpredictable and potentially confrontational nature of working with children with autism
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds

Requirements

  • Passionate about helping children with autism
  • Patient and compassionate
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid Certification, and a Tuberculosis test (if not done within the last year)
  • Pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Experience with evidence-based behavioral interventions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and effective strategies for supporting children with autism

Pay

The pay range for this position is $17 - $20 per hour.

Schedule

Hours may vary based on client needs, but typically include evenings and weekends.
