Behavior Support Assistant - YES Prep Northside Secondary (Immediate Opening)

Responsibilities

• Executing lower-level behavior interventions with students of concern, including check-ins and check-outs, student reflections and de-escalation
• Helping progress monitor student behavior trackers
• Conducting in-class push ins/pull outs to help with de-escalation and coping skills
• Monitoring students in detention and in-school suspension
• Performing discipline data entry
• Assisting Teachers with the supervision of students in all instructional settings
• Assisting Teachers with behavior management techniques by demonstrating, modeling, and positively reinforcing desired behaviors
• Monitoring students during transition times throughout the school day, inside and outside of the classroom, including hallways, cafeteria, gym, and other areas where students are present
• Monitoring in-school suspension
• Holding students accountable to campus behavioral expectations and administer appropriate consequences
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• 0 – 2 years of experience working with students and student behavior
• Experience working with children in an educational setting
• Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
• Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
• Demonstrated ability to work on a team
• A dedication to learn, grow, and develop as a professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution, in a social science field (preferred)

• Compensation – $13.77 - $17.12 an hour
