Main Job Tasks And Responsibilities
- Aid in devising strategies for reinforcing positive behaviors tailored to the student's needs.
- Operate and maintain various instructional equipment.
- Record and document the student's performance and progress.
- Support the student with daily living and self-help skills.
- Collaborate with the teacher to address the student's social and emotional needs.
- Implement behavior strategies, visual strategies, prompting techniques, and social skills cueing as directed.
- Provide reinforcement and support for learning material or skills introduced by the teacher.
- Act as the primary source of behavior information for the instructional team.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Basic understanding of curriculum expectations and teaching strategies.
- Identification of autism/emotional disabilities and basic behavioral strategies.
- Ability to implement multi-step behavior plans and collect behavioral data.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
Physical Requirements
- Light work, requiring up to 20 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
- Standing for prolonged periods.
- Sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving hands, wrists, or fingers repetitively.
- Moving with force on the back or lower body repetitively.
- Finding colors visually.
- Communicating via spoken and written language.
- Perceiving sounds.
- Making decisions using logic and rational thinking.
