Behavior Specialist - PHP/IOP - OCD/Anxiety Adult

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (no holidays or on-call). Typical shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

About the role

The Behavior Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions within Rogers Behavioral Health treatment programs. Responsibilities include assessing behavior functions, developing and implementing individualized plans, providing training and education to patients and support persons, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and monitoring progress to ensure effective outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide cognitive behavioral and other therapeutic services, including groups, to patients according to clinical standards of care and under the supervision of the Clinical Leader.
• Participate in supervision sessions with the Clinical Leader to discuss patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Monitor the effectiveness of interventions, administer outcome measures, and modify interventions in consultation with the Clinical Leader.
• Document mental health services, including therapeutic treatment plans, outcome assessments, and psychosocial information, ensuring compliance with regulations and payer expectations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and assist in developing treatment plans.
• Communicate treatment interventions and support needs for assigned caseload to interdisciplinary team members and support systems.
• Train and support direct care team members (e.g., MHT, nurses, clinic assistants) on cognitive behavioral treatment interventions.
• Provide parent or support person training and education on CBT interventions and behavioral treatment plans, including positive reinforcement techniques and strategies for managing challenging situations.
• Ensure patient safety and the safety of the facility.
• Support staffing and scheduling adjustments as needed for program and patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned, such as maintaining knowledge of department processes, pursuing continuing education, and participating in committees or work groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required (human services, psychology, social work, or related field).
• Valid Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training credential (or state equivalent) if working in an Addiction Recovery program that requires this.
• Relevant Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT) experience (12 months preferred). Relevant experience may include clinical care, human services, or educational equivalent.
• For Residential programs: Must hold a current and active driver's license in good standing (preferred for all levels of care).

On-the-job Training

• Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) training (required for Residential Inpatient programs, preferred for all levels of care).
• American Heart Association CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire. Bi-annual re-certification required.
• Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within sixty (60) days of hire/transfer. Annual re-certification required.
• Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) trainings within ninety (90) days of hire.
• Additional unit-specific trainings may be required and must be completed within timelines established by leadership during onboarding.
