Behavior Specialist
About the role
The Behavioral Specialist (BS) supports individuals, staff, and families to achieve goals and enhance independence at New Hope Community. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing behavior support plans, and participating in clinical meetings.
Responsibilities
- Provides necessary support to assigned caseload.
- Maintains knowledge about medical and behavioral/psychological issues.
- Completes assessments and evaluations upon admission and as needed.
- Develops Behavior Support Plans, Medical Monitoring Plans, and related protocols.
- Trains and mentors staff in behavioral techniques.
- Participates in clinical team meetings and reviews assigned caseload data.
- Maintains working knowledge of 633.16 Behavioral Regulations and related protocols.
- Assists with audits and responses to audit findings.
- Maintains required SCIP-R certifications.
Requirements
The BS must possess a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Counseling. BCBA, LMHC, or LMSW/LCSW certification is preferred. Basic knowledge of OPWDD regulations, specifically 633.16, is required.
