About the role

The Behavior Management Specialist at EMPACT-Suicide Prevention Center works directly with adolescents and families, focusing on behavior management and supporting them towards independent living and healthy community activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to adolescents and families in various settings such as homes, schools, and communities.
  • Facilitate groups to help adolescents develop independent living skills and engage in healthy community activities.
  • Collaborate with teams serving families within the Child and Family Team process, adhering to the Arizona Vision/12 principles.
  • Work within a flexible schedule and some evenings may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • BHT level as stipulated by AZDHS/BHS preferred.
  • Prior experience in an applicable or relevant setting pertinent to the position.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Management Techniques.
  • Experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred.
  • One year prior experience in an applicable or relevant setting pertinent to the position.
  • Experience working with children in DCS care and knowledge of the RBHA children system preferred.
  • Experience assisting teens with independent livings skills and transitioning to adulthood preferred.
  • Ability to work with multiple systems and children and families in crisis.
  • Teen Substance Abuse experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to meet deadlines and timely documentation.
  • Valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years.
  • Regular access to reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
