Responsibilities
- Carry out one-on-one direct ABA therapy sessions in school or home environments.
- Aid clients in their daily academic and living tasks.
- Instruct adaptive play, self-care, cognitive, social, and communication skills.
- Promote desired behaviors through positive reinforcement.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor client progress.
- Create a safe, supportive environment conducive to growth and learning.
- Advocate for individuals with disabilities in various settings.
Requirements
- Holds a valid US work authorization.
- Passes a criminal background check.
- Has a negative TB test result.
- Available to use reliable computer and internet access daily.
- Has reliable transportation, a valid California driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and willingness to drive throughout the Greater LA area.
- Show interest and enthusiasm in working with children and adolescents.
- Show patience and empathy towards challenging behaviors.
- Commit to IABA’s positive-only method, mission, and ethical standards.
- Be reliable and dedicated to daily client support.
- Be able to lift up to 45 pounds, walk, run, bend, squat, kneel, sit, and play on the floor, stand for long periods, and engage in fast-paced physical activities with children and teens.
- Show willingness to work with clients of all ages, behaviors, and support needs.
