Behavior Intervention Specialist

About the role

The Behavior Intervention Specialist position at Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center in Miles City, MT is seeking a passionate individual to support emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. This role involves providing one-on-one or group services, supporting therapeutic goals, and working closely with schools and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Review clients' files and familiarize with their diagnoses, family dynamics, and therapeutic goals
  • Make arrangements to meet with clients and families, discussing issues requiring attention with the Clinician
  • Aid clients in achieving their school/community-based treatment plan goals, such as acquiring appropriate social skills and building self-esteem
  • Provide crisis intervention and consultation as needed
  • Implement daily behavioral interventions in classrooms as necessary
  • Maintain productivity standards and confidentiality
  • Attend staff meetings, peer reviews, and training programs
  • Model appropriate behavior and empower clients to make appropriate choices
  • Aid clients in meeting CSCT Program Goals

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ work experience with youth in a school setting preferred
  • Valid Montana Operator’s License (for personal vehicle used to transport clients)

  • Physical stamina for various settings and conditions

Schedule
