About the Role
The Mental Health Technician - Tier I provides direct care, monitoring, assistance, and advocacy for behavioral health clients and support to professional staff by performing a wide variety of duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care, monitoring, and assistance for behavioral health clients.
- Support professional staff in delivering behavioral health services.
- Perform a wide variety of duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively, utilizing both written and verbal skills.
- Compassionate and understanding demeanor.
- Willingness to be cross-trained in other areas.
- Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to the organization’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
Education / Licensure
- High School diploma, GED, or higher education required.
- Must obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of starting unit orientation (training provided).
- Current BLS certification upon hire or acquire within 30 days of employment and maintain it thereafter.
