About the role

The Behavioral Health Clinician Non-Licensed is responsible for direct patient care and safety including diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for children, adolescents, and their families in Outpatient, Inpatient or Emergency Department settings. This position will support the Eating Disorders Program.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an identified licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, provides direct patient care and management of children and adolescents by developing and implementing treatment and intervention plans and conducting needs assessment to gather patient information.
• Provides crisis intervention to families and provides interventions with families to support discharge to home and stabilization. Also develops a therapeutic relationship with patients and families to assist with psychological problems.
• Completes diagnostic behavioral health assessments for treatment or crisis intervention.
• Compiles and analyzes data and prepares case records, reports, and documents that comply with state and federal standards in providing case notes, treatment plans, and evaluations.
• Collaborates with other disciplines or departments on patient care and unit safety and serves as a liaison with multi-disciplinary care teams and external community agencies to identify, implement, and monitor treatment goals.
• Presents case presentations and provides consultation to medical teams and callers.
• Coordinates admissions to programs within the Pediatric Mental Health Institute or community programs and coordinates treatment with internal and external services.
• Leads, monitors, evaluates, and collaborates educational and therapeutic groups for patients; participates in clinical rounds and maintains communication with unit or department leadership.
• Attends educational in-services for Behavioral Health Clinicians.
• Participates in unit committees and educational offerings; complies with all policies and procedures related to the Pediatric Mental Health Institute and the hospital; and provides customer service as related to the Mental Health field.

Qualifications

• Degrees: Master's in Psychology or Social Work
• Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support
• Additional Requirements: License required after hire. Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Officer within three (3) months of hire. Eligibility for LPC or LCSW must be earned within 1 1/2 years of hire.

Schedule

40hrs FTM-F 8-430p

Pay

Hourly Range: $28.61 to $42.92 (pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience).
